Aas has written the first book in norwegian that does not follow the usual track in harassing umberto Nobile as a tragic figure trying to reach the pole. In his book, Aas accouts for the effects nationalism, personal ambitions, politics and cultural differences that lay underneith all misunderstanings and wrong information that was and is communicated to ther public in respect of the "Norge" expedition in 1926 and the "Italia" expeditions in 1928.
