Il Popolo d’Italia August 5th 1928 Il rapporto del comandante Zappi sull’epica marcia/Commander Zappi reports about his epic trekking across the ice.
Commander Filippo Zappi was one of the participants on the "italia" expeditions in 1928. He formed a group with the swedish meteorologist Finn Malmgren and Adalberto Mariano on June 6th, leaving "the red tent" trying to reach land for help. Malmgren died during the hasardious walk. The two others were saved by the icebreaker "Krassin".
